Having earned my retail stripes in the promotion-driven world of May Company (Meier & Frank, here in Portland, before the days of ubiquitous Macy's) I'm not a big fan of markdowns unless they are taken on slow sellers and discontinued items (which we do a lot of here!).Times are tough all around, however, and we're trying to do our part here at French Quarter by offering some tantalizing markdowns on much of our best selling merchandise. In the following weeks we'll be taking temporary markdowns on sheets, cases, duvet covers, shams, down pillows & duvets, towels, rugs, robes and personal care items.
Because of pricing agreements we have with our vendors, we're not allowed to advertise these markdowns publicly or on our website, so we have to do it by email.
Soooooooo....... you have to give us your email address and you have to open the email we send you every Tuesday.
Also, the temporary markdown will only be available, well, temporarily, from Wednesday through Tuesday of each week.
